A stye is a common eyelid condition caused by a blocked or partially clogged tear gland. They cause redness, swelling, tearing, and pain. Styes that are uncomfortable or chronic usually require intervention.
Dr. Collett offers non-invasive Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapy for styes that are medium in size. IPL is a modern, effective treatment option that not only addressed existing styes but also helps prevent future occurrences. For large styes, a minimally invasive surgery to drain the blocked tear gland is most effective. The process is low-risk and performed in our office.
